Synopsis:
Mother India is a timeless story of a family's sacrifice. When Radha (Nargis) marries, her mother-in-law borrows money from the village lender, Sukhilala. In return, Sukhilala will get one-fourth of the family's crop each year. In reality, the corrupt lender has taken advantage of the woman's ignorance, and the contract says he'll receive more. Unfortunately, the village elders rule in Sukhilala's favour to avoid any police involvement.
